Hey all it's Sam!

The month of December is shaping up to be very eventful for cmarchuska! You can now buy cmarchuska pieces on www.ecosumo.com. Ecosumo is a convenient one-stop shop for all your green needs, from clothing to homewares. We are very excited to be on board with such a great website!

In more news, Christine made an appearance at the Charity Water Gala in the city last night while wearing the mia dress and hunter scarf...this smashing combo (plus Christine's sparkling personality ;) definitely caught the eye of filmmaker Victor Medina-San Andres. Christine and Victor posed for some great photos, giving the mia dress and hunter scarf some media attention!

The hunter scarf is definitely creating quite a buzz; it's being featured on Brad Pitt fan page www.pittwatch.com as a giveaway and on numerous other reviews. Meanwhile the sylvia dress is in production in the NYC garment district as I type...be looking for it very soon!

That's all for tonight....I will have more news of the MAGIC fashion trade show after I come back from the city after Christmas!

Good evening! I hope everyone is enjoying (from inside!) this snowy cold upstate Sunday. I know tomorrow a lot of you will be busy with work, holiday shopping, etc..but if you get a chance, Christine and I would love to see you at our table in the New Student Union on the BU campus from 11-4. We will be selling some christine dresses, vivons vert tees, hunter scarves, long sleeve m-series tees, and kiva tees! We thank everyone for the tremendous support, it definitely shows! Be sure to check out a write up on Christine on newsweek.com http://www.newsweek.com/id/172421 and cmarchuska has also been featured on Tonic.com's Gift Guide http://news.tonic.com/featured/cool-gifts-for-crunchy-friends/.

I also have some more great, thoughtful green Holiday gift ideas this time from the Nature Conservancy, go to their special gift website http://support.nature.org/site/PageServer?pagename=holidaygiving_xx_hgg&autologin=true to find out how you can:

-Adopt an acre of Rainforest or an acre in Africa to help save endangered wildlife and plant life.

-Protect coral reef habitats

-Plant more trees in the endangered Atlantic forest

These truly are the gifts that will keep on giving. Let's not forget about mother nature this holiday season!

With that said, I'm looking forward to having a busy table tomorrow at BU, see you there :)

Happy Holidays :)

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving; it’s hard to believe the holidays are officially upon us. If you still have a little shopping ambition left from Black Friday, take a look at our website and you will see some new pieces from Christine available to purchase…including the way cute sylvia dress! And to spread some extra holiday cheer, until December 19th you can enter cmarchuska in the discount code area at checkout and receive 20% off your order.

Now that I’ve got your attention, I would like to share some cmarchuska happenings. Before Thanksgiving, Christine and I spoke to Professor Dominic DePersis’s International Business course at Broome Community College. The students were extremely interested in how Christine started cmarchuska, and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing the ins and outs of creating a business within the fashion industry. Christine and I are looking forward to visiting more colleges and high schools, so if you are interested in having us pay a visit to your school, feel free to send me an e-mail. Going more in depth with the college experience, I will be focusing on developing a group of cmarchuska college reps throughout the northeast to help Christine and I spread the word about cmarchuska to young people. Our “c-reps” will hold shopping parties with their friends and dorm roomies and have fun buying cmarchuska merch. Think MaryKay but for the young hip crowd ;) Again, if you want to be a college rep for cmarchuska, give me a holler!
With the holiday season comes a flood of gift guides to draw your attention to the latest and greatest gifts to give and receive. cmarchuska will be featured in a few, including the My Inspiration Lounge radio show gift segment, and ThriftyJinxy.com’s gift blog. Also, a christine dress will be raffled off as a prize at the Appel & Frank Holiday Trunk Show in California, and another christine dress is being donated as a silent auction item to benefit the Keystone Women’s Rugby League. cmarchuska's getting noticed coast to coast!

As a final thought, (and in the true spirit of cmarchuska), I would like to share some green Holiday tips that you can use and pass along to your friends and families too! (Find these ideas plus more at www.sierraclub.org)

~Send e-cards instead of mailing out a bunch of holiday cards that are just going to get canned come January.
~Make your own wrapping paper! Use old newspapers, maps, and children’s artwork. Your gift will definitely have the most character!
~Purchase LED holiday lights. These energy saving lights will save you about $50 during the holiday season (that’s enough to buy a hunter scarf for yourself! ;)
~Be sure to recycle your Christmas tree once the holidays are over. Many municipalities offer to turn your tree into usable mulch or wood chips.

That’s all for now….Enjoy the Holiday Season everyone!!!

What's new? Lots!!!

Good afternoon everyone, Sam here :) It's a beautiful day here in upstate! Sorry it's been a while since my last post..I'm sure with all the new exciting happenings popping up I will be writing much more frequently! The hot topic today is cmarchuska at February's ECOCOLLECTION exhibition at MAGIC in Vegas!!! MAGIC is a huuuuuge fashion trade show that draws designers from all over the place....obviously an amazing opportunity for cmarchuska! Christine will be exhibiting her new spring items...including her to-die-for dresses :) (the photo shoot for the new items will be going on this Sunday) I will def keep everyone posted as we receive more news about this fantastic event. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Christine in February's issue of Entrepreneur Magazine. Forget about Valentine's Day...cmarchuska is getting all the lovin in the month of February!!

I am also still working on cmarchuska's college campus initiative and will hopefully include my network of friends at other schools in the northeast to help represent cmarchuska. As far as BU goes, I am contacting several student organizations we could potentially hold a fundraiser for and sell some serious cmarchuska merch...I'm aiming for before the end of the fall semester. Speaking of selling, Christine also received a good turn-out at the trunk show on the upper east side this past Wednesday. We are looking forward to seeing the results from the upcoming holiday parties as well.

Everyone have a great weekend!!

Good Evening!

It has been almost a month since I've taken on my internship position with Marchuska, so I would love to share with everyone what I have been up too! First off, if you're in the Binghamton area, definitely head over to the Metro Center this Friday night to witness the area's coolest boutique offerings on display at the First Friday fashion show! m.y. boutique is part of the line-up and will amp up the chic factor by featuring pieces from Marchuska! It will be very cool to see Marchuska getting more exposure in the Binghamton community and among the college students..which is one of my main focuses. Currently I'm also working on organizing some sort of event on the BU campus in conjunction with other student groups...more details to come soon hopefully!

It's hard to believe that the holiday season is almost underway, and with this has come some exciting additions to the Marchuska line. The highly-anticipated Christine dress has been manufactured and is creating quite the buzz...better get your hands on one fast! ;) Also, if the crazy-early snow storm us upstaters endured last week and now watching the sun set at 5 pm has got you shivering at the thought of winter arriving...take comfort in knowing that Marchuska has introduced the hunter scarf!! Its made of super soft black organic silk and appeals to both men and women with its simple, yet ultra chic design (What else would you expect?) Clearly its the stocking stuffer of choice this holiday season, and what a great gift to give the hosts/hostesses of holiday parties!

Speaking of holiday parties, if you would like to incorporate some Marchuska merch offerings at your get-together, be sure to let Christine or myself know.

That's it for tonight, looking forward to sharing more news with you all soon! Remember to channel your inner designer and submit your idea for one of the new Marchuska pieces in the FeelGoodStyle contest!

Beantown office reporting for duty

Well, consider the Boston office officially open!

I've known the Marchuska's since the wee age of 10 and I can say, Christine has always had the style thing down. Whether it was making that cheerleading outfit chic, buzzing around in her sidekick (trust me, in 10th grade, it was HOT!) to rocking her childhood fur coat all over New York, she's always got her finger on the pulse. She's my style go to girl. While not everything makes the cut, she's definitely my "good friend mirror". You know you all have one. The person who tells you when you look hideous in those new pants? So when Christine first told me about her idea for her new business venture, I knew it'd be an instant classic. I mean, who doesn't love a trendy T that's ecofriendly? Green is the new black you know.

Well I had an idea for Marchuska and had to pass it Christine's way. While she may be my fashion maven, she certainly has learned a trick or two from 'ol Megan over the years and knows a good thing when she sees it. So Christine previews the new dress my way and I loved it, as I knew I would. Instantly I said, "You know what would go great with that? Leggings."

Some people may not like 'em, and those people do NOT live in Boston. Leggings have taken Boston by storm. A fan when they first came out, I was beyond psyched when I saw their return (for some of us, we never left). Whether I'm doing my day job at the office in Copley Square, or lugging my books to my grad school night classes on the campus of Northeastern, leggings go with me (and are seen) everywhere. And I'm not alone. In fact, spotted, Copley Place Mall, lunch time today, a cute gray sweater dress paired with black patent leather mary janes stilettos AND…wait for it…yellow stirrup leggins, the outfit was HOT! I'm spotting them everywhere. Corporate chic or just rolled out bed undergrad's newest fashion, leggings are back.

But Rome wasn't a built in a day. So, when I brought up the idea to Christine, she was on board. But first things first, find her some ecofriendly materials. So I'm officially on the hunt. It's gotta be soft and comfortable and help you take the mseries T or the Christine dress and leggings from day to night, just with a change of shoes! From taking a tunic from too big to too chic with a belt and some leggings or making that indecently short dress decent again, leggings are def your friend. Being in Patriots country myself, I can be seen sporting my fav Pats jersey Sundays with my leggings. With a cute pair of slouchy leather boots and a trusty pair of leggings, trust me, soccer mom I am not!

I've been trusting Christine with my fashion sense for the last 18 yrs, and I don't plan to stop now! Watch out Marchuska- leggings on the march.

Meet the Newbie!

Hi everyone! My name is Samantha Zimmer, and I am the new intern for Marchuska! I'm a junior marketing major at Binghamton University, and as you probably could guess, I have a great affinity toward the fashion industry...which leads me to tell you my story about how I gained this position. It all started a couple weeks ago; I just happened to come across the Press & Sun Bulletin article about Christine and Justin. I was immediately captured by the fact that a Marchuska T-shirt represents not only great style, but so much more. Feeling inspired by the story, I checked out the Marchuska website and loved what I saw. I dropped Christine an email regarding a possible internship, and we met this morning to discuss my role in the Marchuska business plan. I will be involved with a lot of the behind-the-scenes work such as researching online and creating databases. However, I will also be focused on marketing the Marchuska brand throughout the BU campus and local community. I'm sure Christine will be keeping me busy, and I could not be happier. I am so thankful to be embarking on such an amazing opportunity, and I am so excited to be on board with the Marchuska team!

P.S.- I think I speak for all college students when I say that introducing a hoodie to the Marchuska line would be really fun!

double take... 2 x 2

spotted. yes that's right, you were probably doing a double take last night if you saw a glimpse of me in my noir black t attending 2 of the hottest parties in the city. ; -)

if you haven't already figured it out, my nights seem to get jam packed at the last minute and i'm always zippin around trying to get jazzed up for my cameos. last night was no different from the rest EXCEPT that the 2 parties i was attending were polar opposites from each other.

thanks to christine's great friend corrine, i was able to snatch a ticket at the last minute to go to the Young Wall Street gala being held @ a museum downtown. wall street?! the words just ooze suits and dresses. i knew i had to put together a dressy outfit for the gala that could easily be converted into a sexy hip look for my 2nd party @ le royale in the w. village. that's where my new mseries noir black t came in to play. time was tickin so i quickly tucked my noir black t into a black skirt paired with my adorable "dorothy in oz" red pumps. ladies, if you want to land a man in a suit, this is definitely the outfit for you! so there i was, chit chatting away with christine (in her beautiful "christine" dress) & r (w/ her cute onesie sample in tow) when i realized father time had snuck up on me again and i had some major changin to do! i raced to the loo, pulled out a pair of skinny jeans i had hidden away in my purse, and just as the clock struck twelve...POOF - i had transformed my classic "wall street" outfit into an edgy sex kitten look!

off we raced to le royale to join victor @ his birthday bash of which marchuska was one of the sponsors. music was pumpin and the crowd was going wild. marchuska was draped on quiet a few sexy bodies i might add. ;-) to no surprise the birthday boy & i were 2 of those hot tamales in our noir black t's. cameras were flashin, drinks were sipped dry, and the party was another grandslam for marchuska.

happy birthday again to all the september babies - to which i'm including myself and christine since we just celebrated our 1/2 birthdays. 9/22! hehehe

xoxo,

p.s. - stay tuned for new pics of last nights events.

Justin's upcoming birthday

A message from my brother Justin about his upcoming birthday next week....

Hi,

I'm using my birthday this year to support charity: water's September campaign to bring clean and safe drinking water to the people of Ethiopia.

I recently learned that more than 1.1 billion people in the world today don't have the most basic thing: clean water to drink. Over 4,500 kids die each and every day from water-related disease. To do my part, I've been supporting an organization called charity: water that has been making a real difference.

This year, I've decided to give up birthday gifts and ask for donations instead. 100% of the money raised will go directly to building freshwater wells, which will be proved with GPS coordinates and photos on Google Earth.

I'm asking for my age in dollars. Please make a donation on my page:
http://www.charitywater.org/birthdays/fundraiser/sept/view/2189

Thank you!

Justin Marchuska

Woah. Thank You Ever So Much Christine. You will be paid the fee we discussed earlier, in addition to a bonus for unexpected flattery that may find me my future husband--if he has left Mars and re-routed from the original Pluto-Meet Plan, to the JUST MEET ME AT STAHHBUCKS, OKAY???
I definitely am a HUGE fan/air conditioner of the Marchuska Line, and I'm sure you have all guessed why-It's so goshdarn hard to pronounce the name! ;-) Actually, I have worn the tees, and they feel like you are barely wearing anything.Mmhmm...OKAY, GUYS, MOVE BACK!!!I RETRACT PRIOR COMMENT...SHEESH!!!(It's so lightweight it's like second sk-NEVA MIND WHAT I SAID!!! TAKE THREE HUGE STEPS BACK!!!)
These days we definitely don't need to inform you that there is NO ozone layer (Well, on top of my head for sure. All that hair spray when I was younger...Eradicated it all. It's like a bald spot in the Ozone.)As someone who is very Pro-Green(goes with my gray/blue eyes), and Eco-Friendly(far be it for me to be a snob. I love people. Check Facebook. 'Nuf Said), I gravitated towards the M Series like Men to Christine. *sigh* (Your'e HOT! They look!)
Speaking of Christine, you ask how we met. Okay, you don't ask how we met. I will tell you anyway. It was during confessional, actually. Nah, that would've made for the best story though! I "met" her through a funny question that Victor Medina asked and tagged random pple to answer. Her answer was pretty funny for a pretty chick, so I friended her. And the rest, as they say is his/herstory.
All levity aside, (finally, eh?)this isn't JUST A TEE-SHIRT COMPANY.The fabric BREATHES. From workout clothing to nightwear, to a one piece dress named "Frieda"(no, "Christine!!!lol), each garment gets better with age, can be dressed up or down,is easy on the wallet, and environment. We are building a Marchuska Empire and we are really happy you are here to witness its growth, one tee at a time.

Dream Sweetly all,

EXCITING NEWS!!!!

Evening to all you bloggers....

These days I am working a lot more than playing, but I'm super psyched about all the new things going on.  First off, guest writers as well as I will be contributing to the blog weekly, but I will be sending out a monthly newsletter to the masses.  I don't want to be blamed for "spaming" people's inboxes...so if you like what you read here then by all means please please please check it frequently, but if you would be more inclined to do the monthly thing - then just email me at christine@marchuska.com so I can add you to the monthly newsletter and make sure not to send you updates inbetween ;)

Well, I have some SUPER exciting news.  You must check out the blog so you can see the darling christine dress that will be coming to a store near you in the next few weeks.  It currently is being manufactured in our beloved NYC...so you fashionistas will be able to get your hands on it sooner than later.  Okay - that was just a little teaser for the big news though......drum roll please...... ShorThing headed up by that hottie Frieda Shor will now be handling all of the Marchuska PR and marketing!!!!  I hope everyone is as psyched as I am about this.  Frieda is basically as qualified as it gets....I mean who has 3,000++++ friends on facebook anyways ;)  So stay tuned for awesome stuff on the Marchuska/Shor horizon...

Alright that's it that's all....

Ciao darlings,

expanding horizons

the news just keeps on getting better for marchuska! not only is the line expanding, but so are the locations to where you can purchase these stylish eco-friendly clothes.

as of this friday (9/26) you'll now be able to stroll over to (eco)compassions in greenwich village and snatch up some mseries t's with many more options to come (v-necks, dresses, long sleeved t's, scarves, etc.). get ready to also bend and stretch your way into the perfect marchuska yoga pants found at the PILATES Room in ithaca, ny. the new yoga pants are going to feature epaulletes so that you can easily roll up the pant legs and keep them secured while striking a pose. you'll also find a cute little back pocket to stash your id & cash in. you never know what hottie you'll meet at the juice bar. ;-)

the days may be getting shorter, but marchuska's shinning bright on the horizon. stay tuned to see where marchuska expands to next!

donut debate the q & ray

summer has officially come to a close and my girl christine definitely finished hers with a SLAM DUNK. a week after the huge success of the ny couture show, christine's fashion expertise was requested again, this time by the executives of the Rachael Ray Show! the "authorities" called christine in to help rachael settle a lingering fashion dispute over scarves...remember the dunkin donuts controversy over rachael's black & white paisley scarf that she wore in a commercial?! christine was needed for a little Q & Ray to help set the record straight and let the world know that rachael's scarf in NO WAY had any affiliation with politics or religion. in her words it was just a "chic accessory to a stylish outfit." as the cameras rolled christine showed her support for black and white fashion by sporting the NEW mseries noir black t and a black & white scarf. the chilly breezes are blowing in quickly and so are this seasons hot new scarves. soon everyone will be able to get their hands on the new black & white eco-friendly scarf by marchuska.

who knows...maybe rachael ray will be wearing the new marchuska scarf soon too?! keep your eyes peeled. ; - )

where are we......?????

Well....I continue to be addicted to the Imogen Heap song....but it really sums up the day...."where are we, what the hell is going on?"  R and I had a crazy day running around the garment district.  We saw some interesting things....for instance a showroom, which we thought was a label making establishment, but instead a guy with blond spikey hair, combat boots and chains opened the door...inside was a blackboard with the following written in chalk "I will not be a nasty pig, I will not be a nasty pig, I will not be a nasty pig...."  Yeah I def didn't see that during my structured credit days.  Although there is a silver lining....the blond spikey haired owner of the establishment, "Nasty Pig", referred us to a great label maker so all was fine in the end.

The fun didn't ever seem to stop today as we learned that pima cotton can come in some super soft variations.  We also literally stumbled upon the actual distributor of all the fabric to all of the fabric stores in NYC, who has literally millions and millions of yards of the world's finest fabrics here in NYC.  His store has been around since the 1950s....and apparently we just missed Natalie Portman, her bf and her father who were in the store minutes before us checking out fabric.  The owner informed us that her dad sells fabric in Tel Aviv.

Other than that we saw some sketchy snap guy and an amazing office/showroom space if we had some dolla dolla bills y'all.  I have to say though the last 2 days have been amazingly awesomely productive...the garment district really is a gem!

Tomorrow is another adventure with a meeting with the founder of Bonobos and lots of number crunching.  I hope everyone has a fab fab night....try to stay dry!!  Also, keep the amazing one-liners, phrases, slogans coming!!!!!  I have seem some really great stuff for the contest and this is only the beginning!!!

Buh bye lovers,

Lifting offers on Marchuska tees from the upper east side trading floor....

Hello, hola, allo.....

Well, you can take the girls out of finance, but can't take the finance out of the girls.  Yesterday, two ex-Morgan Stanley-ers set up shop on the upper e with a makeshift trading floor....yes R and I wanted to establish a working environment similar to what we had in finance.....because after all there is no better setup for a flow of ideas and communication than a trading floor.  However, we weren't talking stocks, bonds or the piece of crap GLD etf that I never should have bought...  We were talking fabrics, US based mills and onesies.  Plan to see some interesting ideas coming out of this new thinktank....as well as some crazy dance moves ;)  And yes R might kill me if I play that Imogen Heap Hide and Seek song again.....ha - I'm listening to it right now....after all they do mention sewing machines in it.

This week has been an uber productive one and I want to end it on a bing bang boom (can you tell that I already hit up the gym and am sipping an iced coffee?!).....  Alright all you esteemed people out there....Marchuska is having a contest.  We want you to submit your most creative, most ridiculous, most awesome sayings for our first screen printed mseries t.  We will go through all of the sayings, pick the best four and then you will vote!!  The winning saying will go on a mseries t sans epaulettes....(for all of you non Frenchies - that means without epaulettes).  We will print the saying on 100 tees giving the street cred to you.....  Now here's the hook - the sayings can't already be used, cannot involve politics (i.e. the upcoming most talked about election) or religion.  Also, please no obscenities.....cmon  people --- you know I came from a conservative household and a liberal education, but I still can't have Mama Marchuska seeing our name tainted with swear words.

So here is your mission....send this contest out to everyone you know.....I MEAN EVERYONE - friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, parents, cardio relatives (Frieda-ism), colleagues, offices!!!  Have them submit their sayings to me at christine@marchuska.com by Tuesday, September 30th 2008.  It's Friday and I am sure most of you are hungover from last night and the week, but get going....this is big time!!!!

Let the games begin.....
Happy Friday-

show time!

it's been exactly 2 weeks since i got laid off & started working full time for marchuska, and boy it's been a wild ride! i can't imagine sitting in a windowless cube right now after having spent all afternoon shopping in soho for a funky dress to wear to tonight's fashion show. i've been a real sucker all these years workin for the man. although the work hours for marchuska can be crazy at times - thanks to my boss waking me up before 8am most days, the chaos is worth it.

i don't have much more to say except the cra-yon is on the wall - sleep doesn't matter when you've got business to handle & events to attend. it's just another day in the crazy life of a marchuska employee. ; - )

i hope to see all you marchuska fans out tonight at the mansion!

Crazy morning paired with a crazy night....

I know I know.....I said each day the blog would hit by 10am and 5pm, but things have been hectic on the Marchuska front as we prepare for the New York Couture show tonight.  I hope everyone will make it to Mansion (located at 530 West 28th St) for the open bar from 9-10pm and the fashion show at 11pm.  Check out their site at www.newyorkcouture.net to see some of the edgy and funky styles that you will see live and in person tonight at the largest club venue in Manhattan.

Mia and I had an intense morning dropping off 200 shirts for the gift bags.....100 gift bags go to the first 100 guests and the other 100 go to stylists, celebs, press, etc etc.....we hope a mseries t lands in the hot hands of one of Hollywood's elite....so keep your fingers crossed for us!

On a different note, expect to see some cute cute cute little mseries ts for the kid set which should be out in the next month.  These little tees will be super soft and super adorable....I can't wait to see my niece and nephew sporting them ;)

Alright here are some lasting words for you.....the world is your fashion show.....well maybe not everyday, but definitely tonight so come to Mansion, catch some photos with Mia and I, take in the scene, sip some champagne and check out the special edition fashion week mseries t in noir black that I will be sporting with a hot mini.

livin the tough life on the upper e...

fashion, glitz and glamour...it's a tough act to follow on the upper e. ; - ) you have to be ready at the drop of a dime to make appearances & you BETTER be dressed right.

i must have had my head in the clouds this morning when i headed to the "office" because i ran down the street in sneakers and left my umbrella behind! yes everyone, i saw the big black rain clouds outside...but i figured they were there just to tease me. you know, dramatic visuals to set the scene. silly me couldn't put 2 & 2 together to realize the "scene" was gonna be "down pour."

so there i was, workin my tail off packaging mseries t's for tomorrow night's fashion show when suddenly i received a NEW task from christine -- rubbin elbows @ la charlot! my jaw dropped. how could i show up to this delicious french bistro in sneakers?! i needed to act quick...i had no choice but to raid my boss's closet for a little black dress while she put together a fabulous outfit with her pristine mseries t, a black skirt and heels. check out the new pic posted! totally upper e, don't you think?!

today's lesson learned...rain doesn't stop fashion - you can still look glam.

Tees, earrings and necklaces, oh my!

Morning kiddos---

Well it's official, all of you local upstaters will be able to get some hipster chic jewelry at M.Y. Boutique located in downtown Bing.  Pick up your Friday night outfit with the mseries t, some rock and republics and Soho original earrings (okay guys - no earrings for you).

On a guy note, my bro spotted this great little commentary by none other, but Posh Beckham....we think it speaks perfectly on our ideals as well.  From "Rules of Style" in this month's Details mag, "Style isn't about money.  One of the nicest outfits on a man is a pair of jeans, some old, messed-up boots, a simple white tee and a vintage leather belt...."  Posh says it best - so boys, looks like you should be adding a simple white tee to your ensemble.....perhaps a mseries t in pristine white??  We think so ;)

Well I hate to blog and run, but as Mia wrote yesterday afternoon....it's fashion week people...we have places to go and people to see and be seen ;)

what's the on the fashion week menu?!

Grilled cheese & fashion baby!!! there's not enough time in the day anymore for us to eat...so we've been grillin these puppies up as we fly out the door to tackle more exciting business ventures for marchuska.

i'm practically burried in the "office" now (aka christine's cramped studio) by hundreds of mseries t's & canisters. if you haven't heard already, marchuska is a sponsors at the New York Couture Fashion Week Show & Party on wednesday night and the mseries t's are part of the gift bags for the first 100 attendees! it's going to be a WILD wednesday night @ the mansion!

christine's going to look hot in her "modified" mseries noir black t. my outfit is still a secret. ; - )

come check it out in person & keep your eyes peeled for the crazy pics. if you're desperate to get over the drag of hump wednesday i suggest you RSVP to the guestlist@newyorkcouture.net. this is going to be the noir black t's first major appearance and it's not to be missed!

Hola from the upper east-

Well Mia and I are back in the big apple after our upstate adventures - we hope most of you were not caught in the ridiculous storm that we went through on Saturday evening.  Overall the crazy drive back was well worth the risk since Sunday was uber productive with the day spent strolling around tribeca and soho with the one and only CVK.  My brain was on overdrive as I was inspired by the sights, sounds and trends of lower Manhattan.

One idea is a separate jewelry line that will hopefully be up for sale in M.Y. Boutique (www.shopmyboutique.com) located in downtown Bing in the upcoming week.  Another idea is a knit dress of sorts that will be able to be worn in a variety of styles.  Bottom line is lots and lots of new ideas that should be popping up at www.marchuska.com as well as in boutiques in Binghamton and NYC in the upcoming weeks and months.

Sunday continued to be a working day with an evening meeting with a PR/web designer/media guru, who also is a fellow upstater.  He wants to take Marchuska to the next level.  What would you say if I told you that you could get your Marchuska clothing delivered to you in the tri-state area via a Lamborghini??  Or see America's fav actress and now vegan shoe designer wearing the mseries t??  Yeah....I like the idea too....keep your fingers crossed because this could be huge.

After leaving 14th Street with enthusiasm and motivation, Mia and I headed to the upper e to catch the best season premiere....you know it baby, Entourage!!  I am happy to see that this season is going to be AWESOME!!!  Alright, that's it for now, but in the true style of Page Six ---what Wall Street rockstar and Marchuska model was spotted in the mseries t at the DVR fashion show yesterday???  Tune in tomorrow morning to find out.  I have to go return some video tapes....

today's forecast in the northeast??? showers - compliments of Hannah

i hope everyone wore their rain poncho's & rubber booties! it can get real messy splashing around in all those puddles. ; -)

i think i need to challenge marchuska to find some eco-friendly or recyclable material to make some stylish water proof parkas. the idea of walking around in a garbage bag to protect myself from the rain just isn't cute.

even through the hazy mist of rain, the marchuska mseries t's are lookin good on MY Boutique's store front mannequins.

When strolling around downtown Bing stop into M.Y. Boutique at 134 Washington Street and try on the mseries t in pristine white.  You can now see and feel for yourself the amazing soft fabric, the sexy european fit and trendy epaulettes.  While you are at it pair it up with one of the many brands of designer jeans that M.Y. Boutique carries in their store.  Happy Shopping!!

It's official! Christine has landed the Marchuska mseries t's in My Boutique - a fashion forward boutique offering friendly service and high-end clothes right here in downtown Binghamton.

I guess this trip WAS actually worth missing Usher taking off his shirt & shaking his thang on the dance floor at Tavern. OOOOOO sexy sexy. Besides, we got to stuff our faces & throw back some drinks at Moxie's. Afterwards we ventured off to Kilmer Brasserie to stir up a few more potent concoctions. : -P

If you haven't heard yet, Kilmer Brasserie is a gorgeous new French restaurant in Binghamton that has phenomenal pommes frites (french fries) & dirt cheap drinks! The decor at Kilmer is old school glamour filled with tons of character while still maintaining a relaxed vibe & great music. It's the perfect place for throwing parties. Victor, we need to talk... ; -)

Well folks, I'm off on an excursion to Target before heading back to Gotham City. I know all you Manhattanites are jealous right now!

finding comfort in the familiar things...

today has been a day of soul searching...

have you ever felt like your mind is racing a million miles a second and you can't see anything?! i have so many things on my mind today that i can't actually focus on any of them. that little voice in my head is telling me to turn some lights on so i can see, but apparently i'm stubborn and don't always like to listen. note to self - stop being a pain in the butt.

christine accompanied me on my little trip down memory lane today... first on our stop was my old stomping grounds - Spectra Products. spectra's the great direct marketing agency that i used to work for before i took my big leap and moved to the city. the people there are like family. they've continued to be my lifeline to upstate ny and keep me grounded. : - ) they never hesitate to help a friend out in need and they even welcomed me back today with pizza & wings! too bad there wasn't any cake though, i bet it would have been really moist. maybe next time! ; - )

so i informed the spectra crew of my new business venture with marchuska - i told them all about the great line we're developing and how we're coming out with a fantastic new longsleeved mseries t for the fall. the leaves are starting to change and so are the marchuska designs. this longsleeve t is like no other. it's a hot design that will surely keep you warm and cozy on those chilly days.

after we ate up all the pizza (sorry to eat & run like usual!), i headed straight to the dentist to keep my smile sparkling. remember -- the cobra snake is about to bite at the end of the month so i need to take advantage of all my health care benefits now! fortunately everything checked out fine...note to everyone - the dr. says to keep flossing & using floride rinse - it helps prevent cavities. my only concern leaving the office was with the new toothbrush they gave me. it was gray...why'd i get a gray toothbrush? that's a little depressing. i thought my perky personality through these tough times would have at least warranted a green or a pink toothbrush! i'm going to have to talk to them about that next time i'm back. : - /

thank god for good friends though...my former co-worker and husband to another former co-worker picked me up from the dentist while christine handled some business meetings with her brother. i've spent the afternoon discussing life, our careers, our dreams and aspirations. part of me longs to stay right here among my closest friends and enjoy the peace of upstate ny, but i know i'm still on a mission. it's great to find comfort in familiar things , but you'll never discover anything new without exploring...

my day started off in darkness, but i think being around my friends again and talking to them has helped reignite my flame. i'm seeing the outline of things again and i'm able to point myself in at least one direction.

i'm off to search for a list of mills here in the U.S. that carry eco-friendly fabrics. i'm going to buckle down learn the logistics of ordering fabrics...

Day 4---still upstate....

Bonjour mon amie...

Well it looks like we are getting some good blog exposure, but we need more more more!!!  Forward it on to your friends, family, bfs, gfs, coworkers, colleagues, exes and frienemies (thank u to Frieda for that new word).  For all of you who want to read the blog, but don't want to be chained to your computer waiting patiently for new post, here is the blog schedule:

-there will be a new post every morning by 10am est latest - thus if you want us to mention something then please get the info to me no later than 8am (send it to cmarchuska@gmail.com or christine@marchuska.com),
-there will be an afternoon post by either Mia or a guest blogger (please let me know if you are interested in being a guest blogger...your identity does not have to be revealed) every weekday by 5pm est latest - again if you want something mentioned then email me before 3pm est
-blogging is only a weekday sport so don't expect much from us the weekends....after all we have places to go and people to see ;)

So for this morning...I am still upstate at the rents lovely home in Vestal, NY.  As I worked out at the gym this morning and saw both my brothers' and father's commercials on CNBC, I felt inspired.  Maybe it was the new Madonna songs on my nano or the endorphins checking in from the run, but I feel like today is going to be an uber productive day.  I checked out the nettle scarf and fell in love....you will too when you see it....so we are putting an order in and the item should be listed on our online store by October, the noir black mseries t shipment will be in by next Friday so get your orders in pronto tonto and last but not least we are getting approval from my day trading, fast talking, real estate deal making, man of the people brother, Justin....so hopefully we will have an order in soon.

One little delay....the cseries knit dress is being held up since I am being pretty anal about finding the perfect fabric (think organic cotton, but super super soft) along with coroza buttons...so this item will probably be pushed back til late October.  Sorry girls!  I will have pictures of the made sample by next week if you would like a preview of the style - feel free to shoot me a quick email or text.

On another note, get ready for an awesome variation on the mseries t.....I can't reveal the deets yet, but I think you will likey as much as me ;)

Alright, it's off to the post office once again and then a lot of work....

Ciao-
Christine

Living in the World of Black & White Cookies...

today's adventure with christine took me to upstate ny to visit the exciting world of Josh Auerbach's Black & White Cookie Company factory! i'm a huge fan of sweets so you can imagine this trip was a tasty d-lite. : - p

what can i say...this guy josh is a cookie genius! his creative ideas and flavors are sweet AND his ideals are right in line with what marchuska stands for -- eco-friendly & socially conscious.

the Black & White Cookie Company has been shipping cookies around the world like hot cakes and now they're finally ready to open a flagship cafe in corning, ny with more franchises to come in the future. this cafe is going to be awesome. decked out with tons of sweet treats, soda fountains, espresso machines, and much more...

you may be wondering what all this cookie dough has to do with christine and me so let me whip up the batter for you real quick...

the mseries t in noir black & the mseries t in pristine white would look awesome sprinkled among the decor of the flagship Black & White Cookie Company cafe...

check out blackandwhitecookies.com - i'm telling you these cookies are to die for... even seinfeld's people are ordering them!

here's my final thought...combining the brains and concepts of the Black & White Cookie Company with marchuska's sexy noir black and pristine white mseries t's might be a recipe for success. as you know, a chef never gives up their secret ingredient so you'll just have to stay tuned to see what bakes up.

cookie monster!!!!

Day 3 - Back to the Bing

Morning sunshine....
Mia and I are off to the Bing this morning for meetings and such with our local upstate contractors.  Good news - the scarf sample is in!!  Justin says it looks amazing, but I will need to give my stamp of approval.  This scarf is made out of unique blend of nettle and cotton.  Nettle is the common name for a flowering plant....I did my research and found out that it is possible to utilize this plant to make a beautiful organic fabric.  Not many US clothing lines have strayed away from the common bamboo, modal, tencel, organic cotton, etc etc....but I want to be innovative and take advantage of all natural fibers.

Alright enough about the scarf....time to run to the post office to ship some shirts and then off to the motherland.  Make sure to take our poll and let us know where you would like to find Marchuska clothing.  Also, please pass this blog along to all of your friends and family.  As always I appreciate your support and want to incorporate your ideas in everything I do with this venture so let me know what you like and dislike....and more importantly....what you would like to see...

Ciao friends ;)

NY Girl Deflowered

OMG! that's all i can say. i've been officially deflowered as a ny girl. i'm sad to admit that today @ 9pm on 9/3/08, i left my cell phone in the back of a cab. Who DOES that?! apparently many ny girls and boys. : - (

if it wasn't for victor answering his phone and my mom calling me to figure out where the heck i am, i would never have even noticed that the phone was missing! i think i've lost it (my job, my apartment, my man, my phone). does it get any worse?!

all christine can do right now is laugh at me because she knows it's so true. my god, i really hope this is as low as it goes.

on a good note, i met some really awesome people tonight at a fantastic pre-fashion week party on the LES. rivington hotel has a spectacular rooftop view. great friends, great drinks...just no phone.

i quit. i'm done being a consultant for marchuska. this job is becoming too stressful.

oy yoi yoi,
mia

hi everyone!

i'm back in town with avengence. i may have lost my cushiony corporate job, but working for marchuska is a thousand times better! no more long boring meetings to attend, no more dress codes to adhere to, i come and go as i please just as long as the work gets done. shouldn't all businesses be like that?!

i'm super excited to see that the kseries t is coming out soon. a single girl like me needs to attract some men with a sexy t like that. ; - )
i would love to get some colors added to the line...little accents here and there with different button colors and designs would be great.

well i've got some errands to run now...got to spend all of my health insurance $$ before the big wigs cut me off and tell me i need to sign up for cobra. as if!

here's a little food for thought - apparently wally got this from greg's sister's boyfriend...The typical trench coat is a ten buttoned double breasted long tan, khaki, beige or black coat with cuff straps on the sleeves, epaulettes (originally used to hold gloves and folding service caps)

well i'm out the door for now!

xoxo

Day 2

It's a sad day.....my best friend Matt is on a plane to start his new life in LA.  I am sure he will do great things out there, but still it is hard when someone leaves NYC.  I spent my early morning at Bed, Bath and Beyond thanks to someone who had to move to a 4th floor walk up in the village....but am glad that I got up early to start cracking on ideas.  Mia is back in town and we have a lot of stuff to work on.  It looks like a lot of people want boxer briefs and sexy tees as the next Marchuska item....and I have good news....we are currently working on both.  As for the sexy tee, we have a v neck that will be called the kseries t in honor of my best friend, Kiva.  As for the boxer briefs.....guys get ready for some of the softest undies you will ever see....you never knew eco-friendly fabrics could feel so good ;)  Also, we have found these awesome buttons that will be included in most of our upcoming items.  A fun fact for all of you fashion enthusiasts out there....buttons are traditionally measured in gross and 1 gross equals 144 units (thank you to Nic for clarifying that it's 144 buttons not 144,000 buttons).  Alright I'm off to the garment district to meet with my sample/pattern guy.  Keep the comments and posts coming....

Day 1 of the Blog

Hello everyone-

Another exciting day in the life of trying to build a business.  Today is all about follow-up....web inquiries, fabric swatches, buttons....I'm on it all.  I am SO thrilled to have Maria on board as an intern to help with the heavy lifting.  She will be instrumental in expediting a lot of the ins and outs of the biz in order to get the line out faster.  Let me know what everyone thinks of the initial mseries t.  Also, what are thoughts on different colors, styles, etc....  Noir Black will be out Sept 15th.  Also in the works is a v-neck, ultra soft, but without epaulettes....
